About THE ARANETA FAMILY TREE
Much efforts and hours have been expanded into the research and documentation
of the Araneta ancestry, with the hope that the information brought forth will
be of benefit to our generation, and the future generation to come.
The Family Lineage was made possible through information gathered from
the original manuscript of the Araneta family tree done by Eva Araneta de
Serra on a scroll format. Thanks to Cecile Araneta Cacho,
Mariella Marciana Araneta and Pinky Araneta, for their cooperation and input. To my
eldest son, RJ Araneta for encoding.
To all the Araneta Clan who submitted their respective family lineage, my
profound gratitude to all of you for your immense effort.
To all those whose names and lineage are not mentioned, I apologize profusely.
The family tree is a continuing process and will be updated from time to time.
About Me: I am a Genealogist by Avocation My main obsession these days is to research
my family history. And while the Internet has been a boon to genealogy, you can find
nearly anything you want, the genealogical data available online is hard to verify.
So while the Internet is a great place to start for genealogy, it's not yet the place
to finish if you're doing more in-depth research into your family history. A good
source of info. The National Archives has all the census data. The Library of
Congress has a huge genealogy section. The National Genealogical Society is also
good. Best of all is The Family History Library in Salt Lake City. It is the largest
genealogy library in the world... What's behind the doors? Accessing Family History
Library records via the Internet.
I am glad to finally be able to share my findings with other relatives. I am not a
historian but history has always fascinated me. I don't claim that my genealogical
articles are totally conclusive. There is really no "perfect genealogy", genealogy is
a never-ending process. Updates and make corrections have to be made as official
documents are discovered.
I welcome critical notes, suggestions,
questions and corrections.

To be faithful to ourselves, we must keep our ancestors and posterity within
reach and grasp of our thoughts and affections, living in the memory and
retrospect of the past, and hoping with affection and care for those who are
to come after us.
